Program Description

The Doctor of Public Health in Preventive Care prepares professionals who specialize in promoting well-being for the whole person. The main focus of the program is evidence-based lifestyle interventions for individuals and communities. A Preventive Care specialist is trained to practice alongside other health professionals in medical settings and clinics, complementing the work of physicians; to advise local, state and national public health agencies and to teach and conduct research in academic and industry settings.

Admissions Requirements

  1. M.P.H. degree or a master's degree in a health-related field preferred
  2. Transcripts from all universities attended
  3. Three letters of reference
  4. Official GRE scores (scores in the 40th percentile and above in each of the three test sections is considered competitive)
  5. GPA of 3.5 or higher
