Dental Hygiene is an undergraduate program focused on preventive oral health services and continuing care. - 96 quarter or 64 semester units of accredited college class work- GPA of 3.0 or higher in science courses
- Courses must be a C or higher to meet LLUSD requirements
- Science courses must be completed within 5 years of beginning the program
Dental hygiene applicants are expected to complete all general education listed under prerequisites before matriculating in the School of Dentistry.
Prerequisites
The dental hygiene applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:- Chemistry - Introductory inorganic, organic and biochemistry (1 year)
- Anatomy and Physiology I and II (2 classes)
- Microbiology (1 class)
- Introduction to Sociology (1 class)
- Introduction to Psychology (1 class)
- Freshman English (fluency in English is required) (1 year)
- College level math (1 class)
- Speech (1 class)
- Cultural Anthropology (1 class)
- Personal Health or Nutrition (1 class)
- Physical Education (2 activity courses required)
- Humanities - 20 Quarter or 14 Semester Units (3 areas required from the list below):

- Amounts are expected to increase each year consistent with inflation in the professional education sector.
- To qualify for financial aid, most 猎奇重口s must be enrolled at least half time in an aid eligible program and be taking degree requirements. Half time is 6 units in a quarter for undergraduate programs and 4 units in a quarter for graduate programs.
